Veneers are one of the most transformative cosmetic treatments available — capable of changing the shape, size, colour, and symmetry of your smile in just two visits. But they're also a permanent commitment, which is why understanding the process matters.
Where it starts: your smile design consultation
At DentArt, every veneer case begins with a detailed smile design consultation. We use digital imaging to show you exactly how your new smile will look before any work begins — no guesswork, no surprises.
The two-appointment process
The process typically involves two appointments.
Appointment one: preparation
A small amount of enamel is gently removed from the tooth surface. This is what makes veneers a permanent procedure — enamel doesn't grow back. Impressions are taken and sent to our ceramics lab, where your veneers are hand-crafted. Temporary veneers protect your teeth in the meantime.
Appointment two: bonding
Your permanent veneers are bonded in place and carefully adjusted for a perfect fit and bite. Most patients leave this appointment seeing their final result for the first time.
With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10 to 15 years or more — stain-resistant, durable, and indistinguishable from natural teeth.
How to make them last
Regular brushing and flossing remain essential. Avoiding habits like nail-biting or chewing ice will protect both your veneers and your underlying teeth. Routine checkups allow us to monitor the bonding and catch any wear early.
Are veneers right for you?
Veneers are ideal for correcting chips, cracks, gaps, discolouration, and minor misalignment. If you've been considering a smile makeover, veneers are often the most comprehensive single solution available — addressing multiple concerns in just two visits.
