A fixed restoration for one or more missing teeth — securely anchored, natural-looking, and built to last.
A dental bridge is a fixed, permanent restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth without the need for surgery. Custom-crafted in porcelain, a bridge fills the gap left by a missing tooth and is anchored securely to the natural teeth on either side — restoring the appearance, function, and structure of your smile in as little as two appointments.
How a bridge works
The teeth adjacent to the gap — called abutment teeth — are prepared to receive crowns, which hold the bridge firmly in place. The artificial tooth suspended between them, known as a pontic, is fabricated to match the shape, size, and shade of your surrounding teeth precisely. Once bonded, the bridge is fixed permanently and feels entirely natural.
A bridge closes the gap, restores your bite, and prevents the shifting and bone loss that follow tooth loss — all without a surgical procedure.
Is a bridge the right solution?
Bridges are an excellent option where implant placement isn't suitable, or where patients prefer a non-surgical approach. They are particularly effective for single missing teeth flanked by healthy natural teeth that can support the restoration.
Long-term care
A well-maintained porcelain bridge typically lasts ten to fifteen years. Cleaning beneath the pontic with floss threaders or an interdental brush is important — we'll demonstrate the correct technique at your fitting appointment and at every subsequent hygiene visit.
Book a consultation and we'll assess the gap, the surrounding teeth, and whether a bridge is the right long-term solution for you.
